A White that Lasts

Wasn’t yesterday just beautiful as the snow came down all day long? What a rare occurrence here but it was awesome! Then, this morning as the sun shone all over the white snowy blankets outside, it was even more beautiful. It was the brightest white and simply stunning! Glorious!

It caused me to ponder anew what God did in supplying Jesus as the supreme, perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins. It’s true that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22). The blood of bulls and goats did not take away sin (Hebrews 10:4). It is impossible. It took the blood of the unblemished Lamb of God as our Passover Lamb to take away our sins.

As the hymn says (see the Youtube link below in an earlier post), “How precious is the flow that washes white as snow!”

As I type, I’m looking out the window. The glorious white is melting away to reveal the dead grass of winter.

In contrast, the believer’s whiteness from being cleansed by Jesus’ blood will never disappear to reveal death. Why? Because we who believe in Him and on Him are assured of our salvation forever and ever and ever. We have life everlasting with the One who cleansed us from all unrighteousness. Hallelujah!
