Advent

I know yesterday’s post was heavy. My heart was heavy. I actually wrote it Thursday morning and pre-posted it with a set date and time (thanks Robert for that 411).

Although the posts are titled “Christmas Prophecies” you have seen they should be called “Messianic Prophecies”. Oh well, I started with the other title and wanted to keep it consistent. Forgive.

To many people this season on the Church calendar we have entered is called, “Advent.” It begins four Sundays prior to Christmas Day. Technically, Advent began last Sunday, November 30. Some celebrate Advent by lighting the Advent wreath or putting up Chrismon trees. I used to take such things for granted in my growing up days.. As I have gotten older I have come to appreciate the symbolism behind these traditions.

However you celebrate Advent, which means “the coming of Christ,” I pray that you are truly making time to reflect on God’s goodness to us through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Ultimately, we should be celebrating Advent all the time as we prepare for Christ’s second coming.
