I’m back writing a Five Minute Friday post after the 31 Days of Moving A to Z series ended yesterday (tomorrow, I’m posting an index of that series for your benefit).

Today, I’m focusing on the word of the day…Grace.Grace

Grace is more than a word of thanks before a meal.

It’s more than celebrating the joys of life.

It’s more than offering forgiveness to another for a wrong purposefully or not purposefully done against you.

It’s more than loving yourself, blessing another after a big sneeze, orΒ  smiling at the clerk in the checkout line.

It’s recognizing all God has done throughout all of history as He lives above the constraints of time past, present, and future.

It’s coming to terms with His gift of Christ to all mankind, even though not all receive Him. It’s coming to terms everyday with the gracious goodness of God’s gift of a Savior and Redeemer whose power over sin and death has ransomed His joint heirs from the penalty of sin, which is eternal separation from the Creator.

This gift planned before time…God manifest…the reflection of His glorious splendor available to all who will open their hands and receive of Him. This gift of the Holy Spirit who indwells those chosen by God because of what Jesus did.

It’s representing Him to all who observe you day in and day out, being that aroma of the gracious King of kings in all that encompasses your day today and tomorrow.

This is grace.

What gracious goodness! What a gift! What grace! What a God!

I’m writing with others about grace today at

Five Minute Friday

  1. Today’s word seemed to be chosen for you! Lovely writing. Have a great weekend!

    • Thanks Jessica! I appreciate you stopping by to read and comment. Hope your weekend is restful and grace-filled.

  2. As soon as I saw today’s word I thought of you. πŸ™‚ Lovely. I’m so glad to see you settling in from your big move. I can’t imagine how you balanced all that chaos and still managed a beautiful blog series on the subject.

Like you, I’m glad to return to 5MF after a month off. πŸ™‚

    • Susan, it was an adventure packing, moving, unpacking, and placing all during the time of the 31Days series! Whew! I’m happy for a bit of reprieve and new normalcy here in our new abode.
Thanks for reading today and leaving an encouraging comment, as always! Be blessed in God’s gracious goodness.

  3. Oh my gosh, this is wonderful. I’m so glad to have found you via FMF. I love this post. I couldn’t agree with you more…what a God! I also noticed in your sidebar “welcome” that you write on Titus 2 kind of things. That chapter contains my favorite verses about grace….verses 11-14! I think we might be friends. πŸ™‚ I’ll be checking back to read more. Blessings….

    • Lisa,
I’m delighted you found this blog through FMF! Thanks for stopping in to read. I am heading your blog’s way now to see if we are kindred spirits. Heading to the reminder in Titus first, however. : )

      • Here are the verses! Love them!
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
