|He has me in His grasp.|
But, today, I am participating in 5-Minute Friday.
When I first read today’s topic, I read it as, “Gasp,” and a post started forming with that word. Then I blinked and reread the word and it is not what I saw at all. It is “Grasp.”
Now, with this new word other things began swirling in my mind and I began to type:
- Hold fast
- Hang on
- Grasping at straws
- A good grasp of the situation
- Unwavering faith.
Maybe all those things came into my head because of my love for the book of Hebrews and the fact that I talked about this very foundational book at Alpha this week and in Bible study yesterday.
All those phrases up there remind me of things I’ve studied in that book.
Hold fast to your confession, the author of Hebrews writes.
Hold fast to Jesus. Hang onto Him…He’s legit.
And you know that by holding fast in this case it means He’s holding fast to you, right? Just as both parts of the clasp of a pearl strand are necessary for keeping the string secure around, the authentic relationship with Christ is secure (far more than the string of pearls by the way), and the saved and the Savior grasp each other securely. He’s not letting go. Don’t you either.
Nothing can separate you from the love of Christ. His grasp is secure.
God causes all things to work together for good for those who love Him and who are the called. His grasp assists me in trials because I am His.
He is faithful to me, I will be faithful unto death to Him.
I am His child in His faithful strong grasp.
Grasping at straws is frenzied and fleeting, but grasping Him is sure and eternal.
God’s grasp is great.
God’s grasp is good.
So I thank Him as I should.
By His hands I am secure.
Thank You God for faith assured. Amen.
I’m grasping this concept with others at
