Making a List About God

I had the opportunity last week and then again last night to remind both Bible study groups of the privilege of reading what God has to say about Himself in the Word.

I encouraged them to keep a running list of attributes of God they come across on paper (in a journal is my favorite location).

I encourage you to do the same.

Right now, find a favorite Psalm.  Read it with paper and pen in hand.  Read it again and begin to list the things you would praise God for about Him that you see in that Psalm.

Put the list aside for 24 hours.

The next day, come back to the list.  Look at it and recite it back to God like this, “God, You say in Your Word that You are…Today, I am looking at those attributes of You in light of what I know I will face as well as the unknown.  Be all these things in my life today and let me see You in the midst of it all being Who You are.”

You get the point.

Find out what He says about Himself.  Praise Him for Him.  See those things in Him at work in your life.
