No Fooling: The Great Study Bible Giveaway

Is anybody in the market for a new Bible? There are so many out there from which to choose. As I type today’s post I have within my reach six different Bibles. In my quiet time basket I have two more. Add to that my ESV Study Bible I use for a theology class.

Hands down though, my favorite study Bible is the one that has no commentary whatsoever. The print is large enough for my ever-changing vision to see and the margins are plenty wide for good note-taking and list making. It’s my New Inductive Study Bible in the NASB-95 updated version. Actually, that’s the only translation they make it in. For some of you KJV fans it’s a more accurate translation than the KJV. Like the ESV, it’s a word-for-word translation as opposed to a thought-for-thought translation such as the NIV. It’s the translation that I was most familiar with as I began embarking on digging deep into God’s Word.

Well, Precept Ministries is giving ten of these Inductive Study Bibles away. For details, click on today’s post title and it will link you to Precept Ministries’ page on this Great Bible Study Giveaway.

No matter your translation, the main thing should always be the main thing. Get into the Word. If you have a hankering for a new Bible, then follow the directions for entering and maybe you’ll be blessed with one.

I think it’s fitting to close today’s (April Fool’s Day) post with a passage regarding things of the Spirit as foolish to those not of the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:14 – “But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.”

What’s the best way to discern the foolish things from the wise? By digging deep in the Word of God.
