The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived. This afternoon Robert sent me a text message containing a picture of the pound cake as it arrived on his end. All is well. It looked like the same picture I ended yesterday’s blog with. I had imagined the cake as a bag of crumbs, but my friend, Jamie Waters, at the UPS Store knew what he was doing. Yea!
About Bible study today…you all were “on” and I thought that the questions you raised and the comments you had were thought-provoking, insightful, curious…all good things. So, I will look for answers to those and will get back to you guys via email.
Let us be like the Bereans (from Acts) who heard from Paul and still examined the Scriptures to test what was being said by him against what the Word said. May your curiosity to discern truth never diminish. I’m so proud of you guys and so thankful for your patience with me when I may not be ready with the answers to your questions. You exhibit such grace, mercy, patience, hope! I am just wild about you all! You keep me in the Word, on my knees in prayer, and on my toes in preparing.
I was comforted by your sharing the Scriptures with each other as we were searching answers to some of the questions. May we never grow tired of learning together. May I never grow so confident that I feel I must always have the answer or give the impression that I do.
Between studying Hebrews, studying your own church’s Sunday morning lesson, watching (or attending) football, going to see Fireproof, and enjoying some cooler temperatures outside, you have much to keep you occupied. During our busyness, I pray we would be about prayer and reflecting on “so great a salvation”.
There is much about which to ponder and for which to be grateful to the Giver of all good gifts.
Right now, I am most thankful for each of you.
