Walking Near a Rainbow

I just got in from my morning walk and was listening to a song about our Redeemer, Jesus. I glanced up at the sky and pretty as you please there was a snippet of a rainbow, vibrant in its colors and tiny presentation.

I thought about how appropriate God’s sign of covenant to Noah was as I listened to doctrinally sound music about my Redeemer.

You see, my Redeemer has come once and completed then for all time what He was sent to do. He willingly died for all my sins. I believe Who He is, what He did, why He did it, and how He did it. I am amazed.

One day, maybe sooner than later, since He has redeemed me with His very life, He’s coming back to claim all that is rightfully His and mine and yours if you belong to Him. It’s a promise. His Word says so and it will happen.

Galatians 4:4-5 says, “But when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, in order that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” This adoption allows us to be able to call God our “Daddy”.

James 5:8 exhorts us to be patient as we are waiting for our Redeemer to return. “You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.”

That rainbow this morning reminds me that God keeps His promises. He is sending His Son, our Great High Priest, our faithful Redeemer, the living Word, the King of Kings. Are you ready?
