What Not to Share

Yesterday I gave you the definition for “gospel” from Scripture. I’d like to add one more cross-reference to back up that definition. This one can be found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-8. Paul is writing.

In 1 Thessalonians, we have been discussing how the gospel was shared by Paul, Silas, and Timothy to the Thessalonicans. Paul says in 1 Thess 1:5 that it was given:

  • in word
  • in power
  • in the Holy Spirit
  • with full conviction
  • by example.

When it’s given in word, we may not even say the real gospel! That’s so sobering. I leave you today to meditate on the passage from 1 Corinthians. Click on the link above to read it while you are still at your computer.

I hope you’ll take the time to read it and consider what the gospel truly is. Please.
