Almost Ready

Surprise! I have not taken a break this long from the blog…EVER! Some of you have sent comments wondering what in the world was going on. Suffice it to say that the break from the blog lasted longer than I intended, too. With no convenient computer/internet access there anything that I normally did pertaining to using the computer came to a screeching halt. I did manage to update the Facebook status from time to time, but stopped that when I began receiving comments on said status at 1:00 in the MORNING on my cell phone! This girl does NOT like her sleep interrupted. I never have. Anyway, being without the instant convenience of the computer for two weeks broke some serious time-wasting habits regarding my usage of it.

The time in Highlands was wonderful with my sister and then with my men (husband and sons) and our sons’ sweet girlfriends. It was painful to have to leave; I love it there. It pains me to even type about it.

I found a verse yesterday that suits exactly what I feel about that place. Granted it is a bit out of context, my application, that is. When you consider these verses come in the midst of David talking to God about being pursued by enemies that used to be his friends. I think about the following verses in light of a simpler life when I escape to the mountains. See what I mean:

Psalm 55:6-8 (NASB)
“I said, ‘Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Behold, I would wander far away, I would lodge in the wilderness. (Selah). I would hasten to my place of refuge from the stormy wind and tempest.” ‘

Life is simpler (unless someone gets sick) when I’m there. It’s hard to explain why but ever since I’ve been home I have found myself trying to figure out the difference between here and there. On Monday, I will begin a short series on the reasons why and trust that what God has been showing me will minister to you, too.

So, welcome back to us all! I look forward to Monday as we resume digging deep in the Word in order to apply the facts to living them out in the world.

Hug yourselves! I missed you!
